the ten year old talk

Yesterday I took Gab for her ten year old outing.  It has been a tradition, of one previous child (her older sister), to take your child out for the day when they are ten and impart special ten year old only wisdom from your mother.  Apparently the tradition involved lunch, a pedicure, photos, and shopping for particular items.  And a woman to woman talk from the mother.  Me.

I won't go into big details about what we talked about, that is private, but Gab and I had a lovely afternoon together, giggled like fruitloops during the pedicure and filled ourselves very full at an Italian restaurant.

She is so gorgeous, it was lovely spending one on one time with her.

On the other hand, where has my baby girl gone?

Then.

Now.

Then.

Now.

Mmmmmm.  Chocolate.

Ten is a wonderful age.  Possibly the last long look at the top of the rollercoaster before you plummet over the side into adolescence with all the twists, turns and drops.
